Evilly personal place

Greetings! My name is Maryna, but there is quite an amount of people knowing me as Evilly. This nickname had appeared about ten years ago in the web and since then it has almost become my second name. That’s the reason my personal internet place is called the same.

I have a degree in information protection and work in Ukrainian show business since 2008. Besides I have many other interests. The major one is gothic subculture and whatever is connected with it.

I’ve been into gothic music since 2000. Starting from 2003 I’ve been visiting gothic parties where I have met a lot of people sharing the same mentality with me. My first internet site called “Zone 13” was also created in 2003. The materials published there were connected with music, movies, literature, architecture, famous people and whichever other materials connected with alterative culture. At the end of 2003 I’ve joined the team of Ukrainian Gothic Portal (www.gothic.com.ua) - the biggest former Soviet Union resource enlighting gothic/industrial/dark/electro stage. I’ve started working there as a movie department editor.

Since 2004 I’ve become a fulltime editor of Ukrainian Gothic Portal and it’s Kiev representative. After two years break (2008-2009) I am back in action – I’ve renovated my Kiev representative functions, started to write articles and reviews, coordinated the work of the Portal, co-worked with promo, advertising and partners.

2005-2007 - Editor of Ukrainian and Russian version of “The Children of the Night” festival site (www.deti-nochi.kiev.ua), up to the time the site got re-designed.

2006 - MC of “The Children of the Night 3” festival (featuring such bands as Error: Genesis (Ukraine), Inferno (Ukraine), Audi Sile (Ukraine), KOMU VNUZ (Ukraine), Phantasmagoria (Japan), Blood Jewel (USA), Severe Illusion (Sweden), Charlotte's Shadow (Spain), The Guests (Russia), Prophetic Dream (Belarus), Vis Essentialis (Belarus).

Since 2005 I wrote numerous articles and reviews about the world of cinema for Gothica magazine.

From September 2005 till July 2006 I worked as MC and author (from November 2005) of Gothic Castle radiopodcast on radio ROKS-Ukraine - the first specialized show representing the dark stage live. The show featured such styles as gothic, rock, electro, industrial, metal, ambient and many others.

2006-2007 - DJ of gothic/dark parties in Kiev, Cherkassy, Kharkiv and also such festivals as “Castle Party 2006” and “The Children of the Night 3”.

2007-2008 - Organized open and closed events for the Ukrainian Gothic Portal featuring Ukrainian and foreign bands. Since 2007 I work on the design of posters, banners, create press releases and coordinate with media recourses in respect with full promotion of the events.

Since 2011 I co-work with dark folk project Subfinal (Denmark) as an artistic photographer.

2011 - Co-organized concerts and Cyberfront (www.cyberfront.com.ua) and “The Children of the Night” festivals featuring such bands as Jayce Lewis (UK), VNV Nation (UK), Diary of Dreams (Germany), Covenant (Sweden), In Strict Confidence (Germany), Solar Fake (Germany), Spiral69 (Italy), Clan of Xymox (Netherlands), Rabia Sorda (Mexico), Faderhead (Germany)  and many others.

Since 2012 I co-work with Moscow group Arcto Promo organizing their concerts in Kyiv. I’ve also assisted to organize a Spiritual Front (Italy) concert, assisted in promotion of Death In June (UK) concert and fully myself organized Blood Axis (USA) concert.

Apart as a journalist I have collaborated with such editions as KINOKOLO almanac 24 (winter 2004), Yi Lviv Almanac #37/2005, G.O.T.H. magazine #1/2006, Personal Plus newspaper (2006), daily information newspaper OBZOR.
