Mantic - Mantic EP [2012]
Mystical and so unusual band Mantic first time has got me in such a popular place among creative people like Facebook. Their cute and charismatic vocalist Edoardo appeared in my friends after a visit to Kiev well-known to our goths Italian band Spiritual Front – he was an actor who filmed in several music videos. As it turned out, besides acting career Edoardo actively engaged in music and over a year ago founded the rock-n-roll-circus band - Mantic.
Here the reader should have arisen logical question - what does a review of the rock-n-roll album by Ukrainian Gothic Portal? Explain. The gist here is not only in music. In general aesthetics of band deserves a separate research and admiration. Built on "Twin Peaks" by Lynch, old circus shows, films of Fellini, decadence and gothic eroticism and in the end we get an explosive mixture, which is also filled with rock-n-roll drive. But more about that later.
But back to music I presume to call this phenomenon as gothic rock-n-roll. Energetic sound in the first six tracks of the band that was present in late 2012 as a digital Mantic EP, combined with very dark texts - about the funeral, magic and innocence.

Maxisingle begins with "optimistic" track Funeral, but you feel energy of the band at once. Listening to this song you understand, that a funeral for goths is not so sad event. Next Innocence begins with the magical sounds of contrabass and support the mood created by the first track. Butterfly sounds like a romantic ballad and from the words «Baby, please, forgive me... please, come inside» with sounds of contrabass you can thaw completely. Song Magic frankly inspires erotic dancing than actually participating teams engaged at live performances. Because their show without erotic striptease is not complete and for this the band has two very attractive girls. Svenders is such a classic rock-n-roll thing, which continues dancing after previous 4 tracks. Well, finalizes mini-album the hit Flame, which kindles love for this extraordinary band, and the words from Edoardo «I know, I know, I know» sound so convincing and mystically, that you begin to believe - he knows exactly that Mantic not leave you indifferent.
When ends a short 20-minute EP, you begin to envy Rome, which has Mantic 2-3 live shows per month. But you can console yourself with the fact that very soon, after 3-4 months, they promise to present the first full album. Work on it is actively conducted. And we want to believe that it will be with the cover of the famous ballad «House of the Rising Sun», because in live performance Mantic Circus Band (as they called themselves sometimes)
is the most energetic song I heard in my life. Therefore look forward to!
